| Value vs. Used Furniture
offices *Today has been very involved in the used product market; both on the buying and selling side. That market has diminished significantly in the past several years and a new market has emerged in its place - the "value" market.
Used workstations (as well as other used products) are, in fact, a low cost solution. However, there are significant limitations that cannot be overlooked, including:
- Only inventories available
- Colors
- Layout
- Damage
- Wear and tear
- No warranty
- Growth, unable to add the same stations in the future
Virtually none of those limitations exist when purchasing "value" product and it is still a low cost solution. A buyer now has choices without the hassles. How can that be?
Well, it's pretty simple. Used workstations are not free. So, in addition to paying for the product, it is necessary to pay the costs of disassembling and loading, storage, transporting, redesigning, cleaning, and disposing of the unused product. Those costs add up to a pretty big number.
That is why offices *Today is now recommending "value" alternatives over used opportunities. It simply makes more sense in most cases........ |
